Transactional Attorney: Global Logistics, Transportation, Warehouse Management

Job Description

Our client, a global information technology company and leader in the global logistics market, has an immediate need for a transactional attorney with at least 4 years of experience, including one year of transactional experience in logistics, transportation, and warehouse management. The company is looking for help on a full-time, hybrid basis for an initial period of 6 months. The position will require the candidate to work on-site in Plano, TX three days a week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including transportation agreements, warehousing contracts, service agreements, and vendor contracts.
• Risk Management-Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive advice and solutions to mitigate them.
• Stay updated on federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to logistics, transportation, and warehouse management to provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations, including DOT, FMCSA, OSRA and others.
• Conduct legal research to stay current with evolving legal trends and industry-specific issues.
• Assist in the resolution of disputes, including contract disputes, claims, and litigation matters.


REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active law license in good standing in either Texas. Must also have NO disciplinary history in ANY jurisdiction.
• 4+ years of legal practice including at least 1 year in logistics-, transportation-, and warehouse management-related transactional experience.
• Experience in different modes of transportation (e.g., truckload, flatbed, LTL, railroad, ocean import & export).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), and ability to conduct internet research and learn internal contract management tools.
