Temporary Litigation Attorney
A major New York corporation has an immediate need for a temporary general litigation attorney to be part of a pool to assist with back-office work. This engagement will be 3 days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and 2 days remote. Work is 40 hours per week consisting of 8 hour days. There is no established end date for this engagement.
KEY JOB COMPONENTS AND REQUISITES
1. Attorney to assist attorneys in pre-trial work with no court or deposition coverage expected.
2. Preparing draft answers, reviewing file post-note of issue for completeness, drafting dispositive or other motions, summarizing depositions or medical records, writing up requests for authority, researching verdicts and/or issues, and preparing memos.
3. Work emphasis is general litigation, with focus on premises liability, but will include commercial litigation and mass tort activities.
4. Expected experience in writing pleadings, motion work, familiarity with discovery rules and documents, and settlement values.
QUALIFICATIONS
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school. Must have an active New York law license and be in good-standing. Must also have NO disciplinary history in ANY jurisdiction.
- 6 years RELEVANT experience.
