Job Description

PH081121: General Litigation Attorney: Temp/PT (Hours will vary). Our client, a small Business-focused firm has an IMMEDIATE need for a PT attorney, with a minimum of 5 - 7 years of litigation experience, who can assist with some cases that have been taken on to aid the firm's various business clients. The cases are varied and include, inter alia: breach of contract/personal injury; partition/replevin; enforcing a default judgement; wrongful termination; breach of fiduciary duty, and; various collection matters, both in PA and NJ.

The work will be remote but occasional firm meetings, court appearances, and Deposition attendance (with some defense of Depositions) may be needed.

The attorney will be working under a Partner's supervision and assisting with research/drafting of Motions and Discovery.

Our client seeks a litigator who is barred in either Pennsylvania or New Jersey but prefers one admitted in BOTH jurisdictions.

It is important that the selected attorney be flexible as to the time commitment. The first couple of weeks would require someone to devote 20-30 hours per week to become acquainted with the files and current statuses, plus the firm also needs immediate assistance in a couple of Discovery matters. When there are pleadings due, the firm would need a significant time commitment, but, there may also be weeks where the firm wouldn't require any time at all. This is not at all uncommon with litigation assistance.

The firm would like someone who is able to attend smaller court hearings (where the client will not be present) and defend depositions on his/her own. The supervising Partner would attend bigger court hearings and any depositions that the firm is taking, with the contract lawyer assisting.
